Meerut South RRTS Station Officially Opens
The Meerut South RRTS station has officially opened for passenger operations, adding an 8-kilometer stretch to the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, making a total of 42 kilometers operational. The Namo Bharat trains will run daily from 6 am to 10 pm, significantly reducing travel time between Sahibabad and Meerut South to 30 minutes. The station features extensive parking facilities, accommodating around 1,200 vehicles, and includes dedicated spaces for auto-rickshaws and passengers with disabilities. Fares are set at Rs 110 for a one-way trip from Sahibabad to Meerut South and Rs 90 from Ghaziabad to Meerut South. This addition is expected to benefit commuters from various nearby areas and will also serve local metro services. The entire RRTS corridor is expected to be completed by June 2025, ultimately covering 82 kilometers with 25 stations.
