Search Suspended for Missing Hiker Michael Moore

The search for 71-year-old Michael Moore, who went missing in California's Emigrant Wilderness on August 16, has been suspended after extensive efforts yielded no clues. Moore was last seen obtaining a wilderness permit for Powell Lake, and his dog was found the following day near the Gianelli trailhead, with his backpack discovered shortly thereafter. Approximately 450 personnel from 18 agencies searched over 3,435 miles of rugged terrain without finding any signs of Moore or evidence of foul play. Investigators believe he intended to stay in the wilderness for an extended time based on the gear found.
