President Droupadi Murmu has appointed six new governors and reshuffled three others in a significant gubernatorial reshuffle. Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, a veteran BJP leader and former Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, has been appointed the Governor of Rajasthan, succeeding Kalraj Mishra. Gulab Chand Kataria has replaced Banwarilal Purohit as the Governor of Punjab and will also serve as the administrator of Chandigarh. Lakshman Prasad Acharya has been appointed Governor of Assam with additional charge of Manipur. Other notable appointments include Jishnu Dev Varma as Governor of Telangana, Om Prakash Mathur as Governor of Sikkim, Santosh Kumar Gangwar as Governor of Jharkhand, Ramen Deka as Governor of Chhattisgarh, and C H Vijayashankar as Governor of Meghalaya. Former IAS officer K Kailashnathan has been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
