Penn State Athletes Win 14 Olympics Medals

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Penn State athletes achieved a school record by winning 13 medals, including two golds, with standout performances from former students Alyssa Naeher and Joe Kovacs. Naeher, playing as goalkeeper for the U.S. Women's National Team, made a crucial save in stoppage time to secure gold against Brazil, while Kovacs won silver in men's shot put for the third consecutive Olympics. Stephen Nedoroscik, dubbed 'Pommel Horse Guy', excelled in gymnastics, earning two bronze medals, notably in the pommel horse event that contributed to the team's overall success.
