Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia has stated that local telecom manufacturing, supported by the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, is expected to create more entry-level job opportunities and enhance skilled manpower development in India. During a meeting with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), he emphasized the government's commitment to resolve industry issues promptly and foster an industry-friendly environment. The newly-formed Stakeholders Advisory Committee (SAC) discussed promoting indigenous manufacturing and reviewed previous challenges. Industry leaders presented ambitious growth targets, expressing confidence in the sector's potential. The minister assured full government support and encouraged OEMs to share best practices from other countries. Notably, telecom equipment manufacturing sales have surpassed Rs 50,000 crore, generating over 17,800 direct jobs.
