Bus overturns in Kanwariyas

In a series of incidents involving Kanwariyas, a total of 41 individuals were reported injured across two separate accidents in India over the weekend. In Jajpur, Odisha, 17 passengers were injured when a private bus carrying Kanwariyas overturned after hitting a road divider, prompting police to seize the vehicle and begin an investigation. In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, at least 14 Kanwariyas suffered injuries when their truck overturned due to a tire burst while en route from Agra to Haridwar. Simultaneously, another report confirmed that 10 Kanwariyas were injured in a similar truck accident in the same area, also linked to a tire failure. All injured passengers from both incidents were promptly treated at local hospitals, and no fatalities were reported. The Kanwar Yatra, a significant ritual for devotees, is currently in progress, necessitating heightened security and safety measures along pilgrimage routes.
