Drake Stoops Drafted by Father's UFL Team
Former Oklahoma wide receiver Drake Stoops was selected by the Arlington Renegades in the 10th round of the 2024 United Football League (UFL) College Draft. Currently under contract with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent, Stoops aims to secure a spot on the Rams' final roster but has the option to join the Renegades, coached by his father Bob Stoops, if unsuccessful. Drake Stoops had a standout final season at Oklahoma, recording 84 receptions for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Renegades, who won the XFL Championship in 2023 under Bob Stoops, now hold Drake's UFL rights, potentially setting up a father-son coaching dynamic. Bob Stoops, a legendary former Oklahoma coach, has led the Renegades since 2020 and continues to build the team in the newly formed UFL.
