BJP Accuses Kharge Family of Land Misconduct

The Karnataka BJP has accused Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his family of receiving 19 acres of government land for free, allegedly allocated to the International Institute of Pali, Sanskrit and Comparative Philosophy run by the Siddhartha Vihara Trust, which includes Kharge's relatives. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya claims the land transfer was part of nepotism and misuse of power by the Kharge family, demanding an independent probe into the matter. In response, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sought clarification from Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh regarding the allegations, following a petition from Leader of Opposition Chalavadi Narayanaswamy. Priyank Kharge, Minister and son of Mallikarjun, criticized the Governor for acting swiftly on complaints against Congress leaders while being slow on issues involving BJP and JD(S) leaders. He accused the BJP of attempting to create division among Dalits and expressed concerns about the fairness of land allocations. The controversy continues to escalate, highlighting tensions between the Congress and BJP in Karnataka.
