In a recent bus accident near Nagodi Ghat in Udupi, Karnataka, 17 students sustained minor injuries when a private bus lost control and veered off the road. The bus was returning students from a holiday in Shivamogga, with three students suffering bone fractures. In a separate incident in Pune's Kothrud area, a private bus driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol crashed into multiple vehicles, leaving two individuals critically injured, one of whom was injured severely when a motorcycle stand pierced his neck. The bus collision caused significant damage to an auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles, prompting police to arrest the driver, Balu Balasaheb Thorat. Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding road safety and the risks associated with private bus operations.
