Jhingia Oram, the wife of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to complications from dengue fever at the age of 58. She had been diagnosed with dengue on August 10 and despite treatments, including platelet transfusions, her condition deteriorated, leading to her death on Saturday night. Jual Oram, who was also undergoing treatment for dengue, expressed deep sorrow, highlighting his wife's crucial role in supporting his political career. Condolences poured in from various political leaders, including Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation faced criticism following her death, as dengue cases have been rising, prompting allegations of negligence in preventing mosquito breeding. In response, the BMC stated that it has been conducting measures to control the situation, although local leaders have expressed concern over the effectiveness of these efforts.
