Cubs Defeat Orioles 9-2 with Key Homers
Michael Busch and Ian Happ homered, leading the Chicago Cubs to a 9-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Busch went 4-for-6 with a solo homer and two runs scored, marking his first four-hit game of the season and his second consecutive game with a homer, bringing his total to 12 for the season. Jameson Taillon (6-4) contributed significantly, allowing only two runs and four hits while striking out seven over six innings, effectively retiring the last 11 batters he faced. Happ's three-run homer in the fourth inning extended the Cubs' lead to 7-2, making him one of the few Cubs to hit a homer onto Eutaw Street. The Cubs' bullpen, including Tyson Miller, Mark Leiter Jr., and Hunter Bigge, maintained the lead by pitching three shutout innings. The Orioles, who lead MLB with 147 home runs, saw their starter Dean Kremer struggle, allowing seven runs over four innings.
