Kimberley Woods Wins Bronze in Canoe Slalom

Kimberley Woods has won her first Olympic medal, securing bronze in the women's K-1 canoe slalom at the Paris Olympics with a time of 98.94 seconds. The 28-year-old paddler from Rugby finished behind Australia's Jessica Fox, who took gold, and Poland’s Klaudia Zwolinska, who claimed silver. Woods faced a nail-biting finish as defending champion Ricarda Funk of Germany made costly mistakes, allowing Woods to maintain her podium position. This victory marks a significant redemption for Woods, who finished last in her previous Olympic appearance in Tokyo due to penalties. Additionally, she is the first British woman to medal in the K-1 class since 2004, contributing to Team GB's ongoing success in canoe slalom, with medals earned at every Olympics since 1992.
