Paris Olympics End, Los Angeles Prepares for 2028

Los Angeles is set to host the 2028 Summer Olympics, becoming the third city to host the Games three times, following its previous stints in 1932 and 1984. The opening ceremony will be on July 14, 2028, with the Games running until July 30, 2028. Mayor Karen Bass accepted the Olympic flag during the Paris 2024 closing ceremony, marking the handover to LA, which plans to use existing venues like the Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium. The city aims to deliver a modern, youthful, and optimistic Games, reflecting Southern California's vibrant culture. This period will also see the 2026 FIFA World Cup, partially hosted in LA.
