India Launches 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah

The 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah was launched in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, focusing on promoting nutrition awareness and combating malnutrition among women and children. Union Minister Annpurna Devi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel led a nationwide plantation drive under the campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', highlighting the connection between nutrition and environmental sustainability. The month-long initiative includes various programs aimed at improving health outcomes, particularly through the lifecycle approach. Key themes of the campaign include addressing anaemia, growth monitoring, and promoting locally grown foods. The event also featured the distribution of nutrition kits to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. This program aims to enhance existing initiatives like Poshan 2.0 and Saksham Anganwadi.
