Chennai Lions Edge Dabang Delhi 8-7 in UTT

In a thrilling match at the IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis 2024, Chennai Lions, led by Achanta Sharath Kamal, edged out Dabang Delhi TTC 8-7 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. Sharath, the league's highest-ranked male Indian player, set the tone with a 2-1 victory over Andreas Levenko in the opening men's singles match. Sakura Mori extended the lead for Chennai Lions with a 2-1 win against Orawan Paranang in the women's singles. The mixed doubles match also saw success for the Lions as Sharath and Mori defeated Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Paranang 2-1. Despite Dabang Delhi's Diyale Chitale achieving her first league victory by defeating Poymantee Baisya 3-0, the Lions secured the win with Jules Rolland's decisive victory over Sathiyan. Chitale was awarded Indian Player of the Tie, while Mori and Rolland received accolades for their performances.
