Ma Long Wins Sixth Olympic Gold Medal
Ma Long has become the most successful Chinese athlete in Olympic history, securing his sixth gold medal in the men's table tennis team event at the Paris Games, and surpassing previous record holders Wu Minxia, Chen Ruolin, and Zou Kai. China defeated Sweden 3-0 in the final, marking their fifth consecutive Olympic victory in this event. Although Ma did not participate in the singles tournament, he played a crucial role in the doubles matches, contributing to China's overall success. Over his 12-year Olympic journey, Ma has won at least one gold medal in every Summer Games since London 2012 and has accumulated 14 world titles. Despite announcing the end of his Olympic career, Ma hinted at continuing his involvement in international competitions. China remains dominant in table tennis, having won 36 out of 41 gold medals since the sport was introduced in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
