Mysuru Dasara Elephants Undergo Weight Check

As part of the Mysuru Dasara festival preparations, all nine elephants participating in the Jamboo Savari underwent a weight check, with Abhimanyu, the howdah elephant, weighing the heaviest at 5,560 kg. Following Abhimanyu are Dhananjaya at 5,155 kg and Gopi at 4,970 kg, while Lakshmi is the lightest at 2,480 kg. The elephants are being monitored closely to ensure their health and strength, with a tailored nutritious diet that includes grains, vegetables, and sugarcane to support their training and endurance for the upcoming procession. Their training routine includes familiarization walks through the urban environment to reduce stress and prepare for the 5 km Dasara route. A mega kitchen has been set up to prepare special meals, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition in their overall fitness. The elephants' journey to the weighing bridge was closely escorted and celebrated by onlookers, showcasing the community's enthusiasm for the festival.
