Patrick Kugler, the former co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for Austin Peay State University, was arrested alongside five others in a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) undercover human trafficking sting. The operation, which took place from August 16-17, used decoy advertisements to identify individuals seeking to engage in commercial sex acts with minors. Kugler, who resigned from his position on August 18, is charged with one count of trafficking for sexual servitude and has a bond set at $5,000. The operation also resulted in the recovery of seven potential victims. Austin Peay State University acknowledged Kugler's resignation and arrest but declined further comment. Kugler previously played football for the University of Michigan and has deleted his social media accounts following the arrest.
