Miriam Margolyes, the 83-year-old Harry Potter actress, has revealed she is now registered as disabled and struggles to walk following a transcatheter aortic valve replacement operation in 2023. Margolyes suffers from spinal stenosis, a condition that compresses spinal nerves and could potentially confine her to a wheelchair. She uses various mobility aids, including sticks, a walker, and a mobility scooter, which she finds fun and practical for shopping. Despite her health challenges, she regrets not making significant lifestyle changes, particularly regarding her weight, and worries about affording future care. Margolyes continues to work and is currently starring in a new BBC Two series, 'Miriam Margolyes: A New Australian Adventure'.
