Human remains found in Bronx
The NYPD is investigating a homicide after dismembered human remains were found in an apartment in the Bronx and a charred body was discovered in a shopping cart in Yonkers. The charred remains were found near the Oak Street Bridge around 2 a.m. on August 5, leading authorities to believe the body was set on fire at that location. During a search of an apartment in the Bronx, police uncovered additional human remains along with a firearm and drug paraphernalia. The investigation suggests that the victim may have been killed in the Bronx before being transported to Yonkers. Currently, no arrests have been made and the identity of the victim remains unknown. The NYPD is urging anyone with information to contact their Crime Stoppers hotline.
