Cassandra Queen Arrested Following Police Chase

Cassandra Queen, a 34-year-old woman from Lexington, N.C., was arrested after leading police on a chase following a hit-and-run incident on Saturday night. Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run near Toner's Pub, where a parked car was struck and pushed into a utility pole. After locating Queen's vehicle in a nearby parking lot, police attempted to arrest her, but she refused to cooperate, ultimately ramming a patrol car and fleeing the scene. She drove erratically onto Interstate 40, ignoring police signals, until her vehicle was disabled by a tire deflation device deployed by a highway patrol officer. Queen has been charged with multiple offenses, including driving while impaired, hit and run, and resisting arrest, and is being held at the Burke County Jail on a $24,000 bond. Her driver's license was already revoked due to prior violations for driving under the influence.
