Sabres Sign Beck Malenstyn to Two-Year Deal
The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Beck Malenstyn to a two-year, $2.7 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration. Acquired from the Washington Capitals during the NHL draft, Malenstyn is expected to bring a physical and defensive presence to Buffalo's fourth line. The 26-year-old set career highs with six goals and 15 assists in 81 games last season. Known for his aggressive play, he ranked 11th in the NHL with 241 hits and was highly utilized in defensive zone faceoffs. The Sabres have two remaining restricted free agents: goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and forward Peyton Krebs.
