Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Temple Opens for Public Tours
The Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will begin its public open house on August 16, 2024, after a series of media previews. The temple, which spans approximately 32,240 square feet on 5.99 acres, was announced in April 2020 and has been built in Cranberry Township. Tours will be available daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until August 31, excluding Sundays, with no tickets required for entry. The temple will be dedicated by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf on September 15, 2024, and the event will be broadcast to all meetinghouses in the district. This temple is the second in Pennsylvania and the 196th operating temple for the Church, serving over 29,000 members. It features unique design elements, including art glass motifs of Pennsylvania's state flower, the mountain laurel.
