MVA to Finalize Seat-Sharing Amid Tensions

The upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections have intensified political dynamics in the state. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SCP), is in the final stages of negotiating seat-sharing arrangements, with Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) likely to contest around 100 seats each and NCP (SCP) around 80 seats. Former cop Sachin Waze's allegations of extortion against Minister Jayant Patil have further fueled political tensions. The MVA plans a joint rally on August 16 to kickstart its campaign, while a crucial meeting on August 7 will finalize seat-sharing and other strategies. In contrast, TMC is independently negotiating Lok Sabha seating arrangements despite being part of the INDIA bloc, asserting its separate identity.
