Multiple States Report West Nile Virus Cases

Rhode Island and Mississippi also reported their first cases, with Mississippi confirming its first WNV-related death. In Texas, Bexar County is increasing mosquito control efforts after detecting WNV in two mosquitoes. Health officials across these states are advising residents to take precautions such as eliminating standing water and using mosquito repellents to prevent further spread. The peak time for virus activity is during the summer months, especially at dawn and dusk.
