Two separate high-speed police chases in California ended dramatically, one in National City and another in Long Beach. In National City, a chase concluded on Interstate 5 after a pole pierced a car windshield; one suspect escaped while another was detained without injuries reported. In Long Beach, a pursuit of a stolen BMW ended violently when the driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle, leading to four hospitalizations: the two suspects and two uninvolved bystanders, all with non-life-threatening injuries. The Long Beach incident, caught on video, also saw the suspect car crash into three parked vehicles, and both suspects were apprehended after the crash.
