Modi Attends Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, where he interacted with self-help group (SHG) members earning at least ₹1 lakh annually. The event saw the felicitation of 11 lakh women who recently achieved this milestone and the announcement of a ₹2,500 crore revolving fund to benefit 48 lakh SHG members. Additionally, Modi disbursed ₹5,000 crore in bank loans to aid 25.8 lakh SHG members. The Lakhpati Didi scheme, aimed at empowering women from Below Poverty Line families, is set to benefit around three crore women across India by enhancing their incomes and expanding business opportunities. In SPS Nellore district alone, 1.2 lakh women will receive financial assistance and training to improve their livelihoods. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to women's economic empowerment in rural areas.
