Tim Allen Returns in ABC's 'Shifting Gears'

Tim Allen is set to return to ABC with a new sitcom titled 'Shifting Gears,' co-starring Kat Dennings. The show will feature Allen as a widower who runs a classic car restoration shop and faces new challenges when his estranged daughter (Dennings) and her teenage children move back in with him. The cast also includes Daryl 'Chill' Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis, with Tim Allen serving as executive producer. Originally written and run by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully, the show is currently looking for new showrunners as the Scullys have amicably departed. The pilot has been completed, but the official start date and number of episodes are yet to be confirmed, though a midseason debut in the 2024-25 TV season is anticipated.
