The book, co-authored by Pulitzer Prize winners Heidi Evans and Josh Getlin, aims to provide an intimate account of her life, including her rise to fame, high-profile marriages, and battles with substance abuse. Minnelli, who initially resisted sharing her story, changed her mind due to recent portrayals that she deemed inaccurate, including her 'sabotaged' Oscars appearance and a film filled with 'twisted half-truths.' She expressed her frustration over these representations, stating, 'Finally, I was mad as hell!' The memoir will also feature contributions from her longtime friend Michael Feinstein and will include never-before-heard recordings from her life. Minnelli insists this is her story to tell, reflecting her unique place in the entertainment world.
