Western Railway Launches Bi-Weekly Bandra-Madgaon Train

Western Railway is set to launch a new bi-weekly express train service between Bandra Terminus and Madgaon, with the inaugural run scheduled for August 29, 2024. The train will operate every Tuesday and Thursday from Madgaon and every Wednesday and Friday from Bandra, providing direct connectivity to Mumbai's western suburbs and the Konkan region. It will stop at multiple stations, including Borivali, Vasai, and Panvel, and feature 20 coaches, including sleeper and AC classes. This new service addresses long-standing commuter demands for better connectivity compared to existing Central Railway options. The service is expected to enhance travel convenience and is anticipated to begin regular operations from September 3. Additionally, Indian Railways will introduce two special trains between Mumbai and Ayodhya to accommodate rising passenger demand.
