The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an estimated $582 million for the upcoming drawing, making it the ninth largest in the game's history. This increase follows a previous jackpot of $552 million won in Illinois on June 4, as no ticket matched all six numbers in the last drawing. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, but over 1 million tickets won smaller prizes in the last drawing. Tickets are sold across 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands for $2 each, with an optional $1 Megaplier available. Mega Millions holds the record for the most jackpots over $1 billion, with six such prizes awarded to date. Drawings occur at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesdays and Fridays.
