Former President Jimmy Carter will celebrate his 100th birthday with a musical gala titled 'Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song' on September 17 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, two weeks before his actual birthday on October 1. The event will feature a star-studded lineup, including musicians like Maren Morris, Eric Church, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus, with Emmy award-winner Rickey Minor as the musical director. Notable guests such as Dale Murphy, Killer Mike, and Sean Penn are also expected to attend. Jason Carter, the former president's grandson, emphasized the significance of music in Carter's life and legacy, stating it serves as a source of joy and inspiration. In addition to the gala, the JC100 Film Festival will take place on September 28, showcasing films from Carter's personal favorites during his presidency, along with various festivities. The Carter Center is inviting the public to contribute messages for a digital mosaic celebrating Carter's centennial.
