Lydia Ko Wins Golf Gold, Enters LPGA Hall of Fame
Lydia Ko of New Zealand won the gold medal in the women's golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing 10 under par, with Germany's Esther Henseleit taking silver and China's Xiyu Lin securing bronze. Ko's victory completes her Olympic medal set, having previously won silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020, making her the only golfer to hold an Olympic medal of every color. Her gold medal also qualifies her for the LPGA Hall of Fame, achieving the 27 points necessary for induction. Ko's performance included overcoming a double bogey on the 13th hole and securing her win with a birdie on the 18th. This win added to her illustrious career, which includes 18 LPGA Tour victories and two major championships.
