Australian nationals David James Fisk and his wife Lucita Barquin Cortez, along with their daughter-in-law Mary Jane Cortez, were found murdered in their room at The Lake Hotel in Tagaytay, Philippines. The victims were discovered bound and gagged by a hotel staff member, with CCTV capturing a suspect leaving the room shortly before their bodies were found. The motive remains unclear, as some valuables, including mobile phones, were not taken. The couple had extended their stay in the Philippines before they were due to fly back to Australia. Local police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the families. Tagaytay Mayor Abraham Tolentino expressed shock and promised a swift resolution to the case.
