Big rig accident on 580

A fatal collision occurred on August 3 in Martins River, Nova Scotia, involving a westbound Mazda CX-5 that collided with two semi-tractor trailers. The driver of the Mazda, a 28-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, while an 85-year-old man from New Germany, driving one of the trucks, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. In California, significant delays followed a crash involving two large trucks on westbound Interstate 580, where one vehicle caught fire but no injuries were reported. Recovery efforts and an oil spill caused prolonged traffic disruptions, though the highway fully reopened by 12:30 p.m. Additionally, a separate incident on southbound Interstate 5 saw a big rig overturn, with no injuries reported and no other vehicles involved.
