Pakistan 2024 General Election Nominations Announced

The Election Commission of Pakistan has approved 22,711 candidates for the upcoming general elections. Of the total 25,951 candidates that submitted nominations, 3,240 were rejected, and 2,216 nominations were rejected for the provincial assembly. The nomination papers of 6,449 candidates for the National Assembly and 16,262 for the four provincial assemblies were approved. The ROs have until January 3 to receive appeals against the decisions, with the ECP's Appellate Tribunal set to decide on the appeals by January 10.
