Agustin Canapino and Juncos Hollinger Racing have parted ways after a tumultuous period marked by social media controversies and disappointing race results. Canapino, a seven-time Argentinian touring car champion, struggled to adapt to the IndyCar Series, finishing outside the Top 20 in most races. The situation deteriorated when Canapino's fans issued death threats to rival drivers, leading to a severance of JHR's technical partnership with Arrow McLaren. Canapino's inability to adequately address the threats and his subsequent leave of absence further strained the relationship. Despite some flashes of promise, his performance did not meet expectations, and JHR decided to replace him for the remaining races of the season, likely impacting their chances for a $1 million Leaders Circle contract. JHR has not yet announced a replacement driver for the final five races.
