The new single showcases an evolution in his sound, featuring live studio musicians and a prominent use of brass, contrasting with his previous bedroom-pop style. The music video, directed by Isaac Ravishankara, depicts FINNEAS in a cycle of love and misfortune, highlighting themes of attachment and heartbreak. This album follows his 2021 debut 'Optimist' and his recent collaboration with sister Billie Eilish on her album 'Hit Me Hard and Soft', as well as his Oscar win for the song 'What Was I Made For?' from the Barbie soundtrack. FINNEAS expressed excitement about collaborating with friends on this project, aiming for a more uplifting and raw sound.
