AT&T Stadium to Host 2026 World Cup Final
The 2026 World Cup final will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19. FIFA made the announcement Sunday at a Miami television studio, allocating the opener of the 39-day tournament to Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on June 11. The U.S. team will play its opener at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12, then travel to Seattle’s Lumen Field and finish the group stage at SoFi. Semifinals will be played on July 14 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and the following day at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The third-place game will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The AT&T Stadium in Dallas was chosen as the venue for the 2026 World Cup final, outbidding MetLife Stadium in New York. FIFA praised the stadium for its architecture, capacity, and fan experience. The stadium's capacity was listed to house 92,967 fans during the World Cup, the highest in all 16 stadiums selected for the expanded 48-team tournament.
