Train derails in Itarsi
On Monday evening, two coaches of the Rani Kamlapati-Saharsa passenger train derailed as it approached Itarsi station in Madhya Pradesh, around 6:10 PM. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, as the train was traveling at under 5 km/h at the time of the incident, which occurred on platform number 2. Passengers experienced panic, with some screaming and pleading for help, but emergency services arrived quickly to assist. Railway officials are investigating the cause of the derailment, while efforts to restore traffic are ongoing. The train remained stranded at Itarsi Junction for over two hours following the incident. Previous derailments in the region included the Mysore-Rani Kamlapati Express and a goods train between Amla and Bina.
