Severe Storms Cancel Air Show in Wichita

Severe storms in Wichita, Kansas, led to the cancellation of the second day of the Frontiers in Flight Airshow at McConnell Air Force Base. The storms, which began early Sunday morning, brought wind gusts exceeding 50 mph, significant rainfall, and lightning, causing damage to the base and tipping over planes. Over 8,100 Evergy customers lost power, and a flood warning was issued for parts of Sedgwick County. The decision to cancel the airshow was made around 9:45 a.m. due to safety concerns. Additionally, the storms caused extensive damage across the city, including downed trees and power lines.
