Music director Mani Sharma proposed the sequel idea, which was enthusiastically supported by director B Gopal and others present. Dutt emphasized that the trend of sequels in the industry made this the right time to proceed. The sequel to JVAS, long speculated, may feature Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor stepping into the roles originally played by Chiranjeevi and Sridevi, respectively.
