Two Arrested in Portland Shooting Death

Two suspects, William A. Watson, 32, and Candice M. Hicks, 34, have been arrested in Washington in connection to the October 2023 fatal shooting of 26-year-old Cali Durbin in Southeast Portland. Watson faces charges including second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, while Hicks is charged with second-degree attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Southeast Foster Road and 86th Avenue, also left two other people with life-threatening injuries. The arrests were made with the assistance of U.S. Marshals and the Criminal Investigations Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Both suspects are awaiting extradition to Oregon. The circumstances of the shooting remain largely unknown and under investigation.
