Islamic Preacher Arrested, Crowd Demands Release

Mumbai-based Islamic preacher Mufti Salman Azhari was arrested by the Junagadh police and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) for allegedly causing communal disharmony through his speech on 31 January at a religious event in Junagadh. After his arrest, a crowd gathered in Junagadh demanding his release, leading to the police using force and causing injuries. The ATS is investigating Azhari's Trust to check for potential provocation and foreign funding.
