Wriddhiman Saha to Bengal
Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has rejoined Bengal for the upcoming domestic cricket season after a two-year stint with Tripura, where he had played following a fallout with a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official. Saha expressed excitement about returning and is committed to playing across all formats for Bengal, stating his readiness to contribute in any capacity, even if it means stepping back for younger players like Abhishek Porel. CAB president Snehasish Ganguly welcomed Saha's return, highlighting the importance of his experience to strengthen the team after the retirement of former captain Manoj Tiwary. Saha, who has played 40 Tests for India, emphasized his focus on team success over personal achievements and reiterated that age is just a number for him in his pursuit to continue playing. He aims to help the team win major tournaments while preparing for the Ranji Trophy season, leaving open the possibility of participating in shorter formats based on his fitness. Saha's return is seen as a crucial element in Bengal's strategy to enhance their performance in the domestic circuit.
