BRS loan waiver
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has launched a grievance cell at Telangana Bhavan after receiving over 45,000 complaints from farmers regarding the government's farm loan waiver scheme within 48 hours. Former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy highlighted that many farmers are facing issues with loan waivers, including discrepancies with Aadhaar and ration cards, leaving them in distress. Former Minister S. Niranjan Reddy criticized the Congress government for its failure to waive loans adequately, urging farmers to report issues via a WhatsApp number for assistance. The BRS claims that while 45 lakh farmers are eligible for waivers, only about 17 lakh have received them, raising concerns about the government's transparency in the process. The situation has escalated to the point where some farmers have reportedly taken drastic actions, including suicide, due to the unmet promises of loan waivers. The BRS aims to compile complaints and pressure the government for necessary actions to rectify the situation.
