Michigan Doctor Charged with Multiple Sex Crimes

Dr. Oumair Aejaz, a 40-year-old internal medicine physician in Michigan, has been charged with multiple sex crimes, including child sexual abusive activity, after authorities discovered thousands of secretly recorded nude videos and photos of unsuspecting individuals. Arrested on August 8, Aejaz allegedly used hidden cameras in various locations, including changing areas, bathrooms, and hospital rooms, to capture images of both adults and children as young as two. The investigation was sparked by a report from Aejaz’s wife, leading to the seizure of over 13,000 videos from multiple devices. Sheriff Michael Bouchard described the case as one of the most disturbing he has encountered, emphasizing the violation of trust against victims in safe environments. Prosecutors believe there may be more unidentified victims, and a forensic examination of the materials could take up to six months to complete. Aejaz, who arrived in the U.S. in 2011, is currently held on a $2 million bond.
