JP Nadda on Hema Committee

BJP President J P Nadda has criticized the Left government in Kerala for delaying the release of the Justice Hema Committee report, which details serious allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation in the Malayalam film industry. He claimed that the government's hesitance stems from the involvement of Communist Party leaders in the reported misconduct, urging Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to clarify the situation. Nadda linked the government's negligence in responding to warnings about landslides in Wayanad, attributing the loss of life to their inaction and calling it 'callousness.' He condemned both the CPI(M) and Congress-led UDF for corruption, suggesting they have degraded Kerala's reputation for peace and development. The Hema Committee report, which became public recently after being submitted in 2019, highlights systemic issues in the film industry dominated by a male-dominated 'mafia' that exploits female actors. Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP's growing influence in Kerala, predicting electoral success in the upcoming assembly elections.
