Clemson Coaches Get Significant Contract Extensions

Clemson's Board of Trustees has approved significant contract extensions and salary raises for men's basketball coach Brad Brownell and baseball coach Erik Bakich after their successful seasons. Brownell, who led the Tigers to their first Elite Eight in 44 years, received a five-year, $20 million contract, increasing his salary to $3.5 million next season with annual raises of $250,000, culminating in $4.5 million by 2028-29. Bakich, who led Clemson baseball to consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and a super regional, received a six-year extension worth $8.4 million, starting with $1.275 million and increasing to $1.525 million by 2029-30. Both coaches' performance in the NCAA tournaments has revitalized their respective programs, leading to these substantial rewards.
