Heavy Rainfall Forecasted Across India This Week

Recent heavy rainfall has impacted various regions across India, with Jodhpur recording the highest at 26.50mm and significant rainfall also noted in Dausa. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rain in several districts of Kerala and is projecting increased monsoon activity in Rajasthan, particularly from September 1 to 3. The heavy rains have also led to the collapse of the Arbaat dam in Sudan, resulting in casualties and extensive damage. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are bracing for very heavy rains as a pressure system develops in the Bay of Bengal. With many dams in Rajasthan filled to capacity due to an overall 52.60% increase in rainfall, further rainfall is anticipated, which may exacerbate flooding conditions. Overall, the monsoon season is proving to be particularly intense this year across multiple states.
